Mother Tongue Week

                   This week at SWA we are celebrating Mother Tongue week. We are recognizing the value of Mother as it relates to learning in an international school setting and our school will focus on cultural items from the five continents, there will be a performance every lunch on bamboo court. The celebration will conclude with a food fair and assembly on Friday. On each day for this week there will be different culture showed, on Monday we have Indonesia, and the following day will be Asia, Europe, Africa/Oceania and America’s. For today lunchtime we watch the fan dance from the Korean girl students and it’s fantastic, yesterday we had a special guess from Kalimantan to sell some stuff and they also performed a traditional dance from Kalimantan. We really like the dance. This Friday there will be a special event held on the bamboo court, there will be a food fair where there food from around this world, Korea, Indonesia, Japan, etc. the will sell the food for Rp5000’00. There will be a lot of food on the food fair and they sell it for a cheap price. We have to use free clothes on that day. Oh yea, Last Monday we had to use Batik for the whole day because Batik is kind of Indonesia traditional clothes especially in Banten. The entire students use Batik on that day, and there’s a many type of batik you can use, from formal Batik, Dress, modern style batik. This cultural event will be held for anyone that wanted to see, people from other school can also come and watch the show if they can come, event thought it’s impossible because it help on lunchtime.
